Carlton Brumbelow

Hungry!

My name is Carlton Brumbelow…aka. The Great Brumby. I am a 32-year-old father and husband. I am a writer, I just make my money by selling roofs. I’m extremely pretentious, but I am very cognizant of my pretentiousness, and I make a conscious effort each day to fight against it.  I am a minimum effort person. I can excel at most things with minimum effort, which causes me to default to putting only a minimal amount of effort into what I do. This has been the bane of my existence all of my life. There have been periods of time when I have defeated it, but it has always resurrected itself. That is my biggest weakness.

Here are 15 things about me.

  1. I have been bald since I was 21.
  2. I served six years in the Navy.
  3. I speak, read, and understand Hebrew fluently.
  4. I play the lottery, because….well, why not.
  5. I am in love with languages. I have a library of books and resources in Russian, Arabic, Hebrew, Latin, Greek, French, German, and Spanish.
  6. I love to play Texas Hold ’em.
  7. I almost killed my brother when I was 16…accipurpodently.
  8. My best friend and I have the closest strictly platonic bromance I have ever seen.
  9. I just started watching South Park.
  10. I love Alanis Morissette.
  11. I think I subconsciously gained all of my weight in an effort to get out of the Navy early…which didn’t work, by the way.
  12. I want to be a hippie. Not a “cool” hippie. I want to be a genuine VW van, begging for vegetable oil, hugging random strangers kind of hippie. I just have to keep chipping away at my addiction to material things.
  13. Dream places to live: Maine, Alaska, Canada, Denmark, and Sweden.
  14. My ex-roommate from college called me a pseudo-intellect during an argument. It was the most honest and true thing anyone has ever to me.
  15. I’m not afraid of death, I just don’t want to die.

I think some of these are repeats from my Transparency post, but there are important things.

Tomorrow it looks like I get to share my nicknames with you.
